We’re inviting creative people to apply for an Art Market stall space at this year’s Escape ARTfest ‘Art Market’.


We are eager to showcase all original and hand-crafted art, photography, ceramics, jewellery, textiles, clothing, graphic art, sculpture (and anything else you can offer us) at a family friendly, fun and vibrant Art Market in Ulladulla on Saturday 12th October 2019


In order to meet our vision of “Showcasing artists to inspire the community” the Escape ARTfest has established selection criteria which we would like you to consider. You need to meet the criteria in order for you to participate and display you work in the Art Market.

Selection Criteria

Our objective is to include artists from a broad demographic with diverse backgrounds and styles to engage and amaze our festival participants. This is a creative arts day aimed at promoting art and inviting people of all ages and abilities to be creative!


We encourage you to demonstrate your skills and/or engage in discussion about your art practices with our local community members visiting your stall.


ARTfest’s vision for Art Market Stalls

  • Original creative work handcrafted and designed by the stall holder.

  • Display your work in a market style format, which showcases your work to inspire and encourage visitors to be creative.

  • Be interactive with participants, provide live demonstrations creating your work, short tutorials or discussions on how to try techniques related to your work for themselves.

  • Display a variety of traditional and/or contemporary creative practices using a range of media. 

Market Stall space availability

  • You will be given a specific stall site number to set up your stall.

  • Stall sites are 3m x 3m = $30 or 3m x 6m = $50. An additional fee of $50 per day applies for powered sites.

  • There are limited spaces available for the Market Stalls, so Escape ARTfest will accept only those applications which meet the above criteria.

Duration

  • The Market will take place at 10am-2pm, Saturday 12th October 2019.

  • Market location is Ulladulla Civic Centre grounds on the Princes Highway Ulladulla. 

What you need to do
As well as reading and agreeing to the Terms and Conditions below before applying to host a Market Stall, it is the Stall Holder’s responsibility to:

  • Organise the logistics of transporting, displaying, and labelling of artworks.

  • Set up time is available from 8am, and your stall MUST be open no later than 10am.

  • Pack down time is from 2pm onwards (not before).

  • Accept liability for the care and damage of all of their own property/goods and understand this is NOT the responsibility of Escape ARTfest, its volunteers, participants or venue owners.

  • Provide Escape ARTfest the details of Stall Holder’s insurance, eg. Public Liability Insurance.


Applications
All submissions must be:

  • Received online, via the Escape ARTfest website by no later than Friday 30th August 2019.

  • Complete with all information including photos of your work for Escape Artfest to view your material.

  • ONLY the original work of the stall holder.

  • No food stall applicants - these will be booked by the event organiser.


Support
Your Market Stall will be supported by the Escape ARTfest organising committee and volunteers, promoted through an integrated digital marketing, advertising and publicity campaign and featured on the Escape ARTfest website.

The Escape ARTfest Organising Committee reserves the right to reject any market stall for any reason.

 

Some of the information provided below, for example your name, business/brand name and images will be used on the festival website and program to promote the art market, please check your information carefully and ensure you provide ALL details.

Escape ARTfest Market Stall Terms & Conditions

 

The vendor MUST:

  • Organise the logistics of transporting their wares, artwork, and or all required equipment to and from their market stall space.

  • Confirm stall size/location/times for set up and removal of their market stall with the event organiser.

  • Set up from 8am and ALL vehicles to be cleared from the market area by 9:30am.

  • Agree NOT to pack up their stall before 2pm.

  • Provide stall holder public liability insurance in their application, and this MUST be sighted on the day of the market.

  • Take full responsibility for the care and handling of their wares and or artworks during transport, setup and removal.

  • Leave their allocated site in the condition in which they found it. The vendor will be required to make right any damage.

 

IMPORTANT

Cancellation of market 

In the event of rain, strong winds or other weather which may adversely impact the market, or on the basis of inclement weather forecasts from the Bureau of Meteorology - Escape ARTfest:

  1. May cancel the market on the previous day, or when such forecasts become available.  In that event stallholders will be notified by email, on this website, or (for stallholders who do not have access to email or the internet), by phone or SMS. If in doubt stallholders should contact the Market Organiser via phone.

  2. Where the weather threatens the market after vendors have arrived on-site, Escape ARTfest may cancel the market.

  3. If the market is cancelled as in (2) above, but before 12.00 pm, stallholders will be credited with the fees paid for that market.

  4. If the cancellation occurs after 12.00 pm, no credit or refund will be offered.

  • Insurance: Vendors must hold Public Indemnity insurance to the value of $20 million.  Current copies of the policy must be submitted with their application.

  • Parking and access: ALL vehicles MUST be parked outside the market area.

  • The access-way on the western side of the market area must be kept clear for emergency vehicles.  All walkways between and around sites must be kept clear and safe. Please ensure you read the Evacuation Plan prior to event.

  • Shelter: The vendor is responsible for items such as shelter and other equipment which they require. Shelters must be secured to the ground.

  • Power: If power is required vendors must arrange in advance with the Market Organiser.  All electricity cords must be provided by vendors and display annual test tag by a licensed inspector at vendor’s expense.

  • Waste: All vendors MUST remove waste from their site and stall. Bins on site are not to be used.

  • Fees: MUST be paid prior to the event to confirm your stall booking.

Escape ARTfest will:

  • Advertise and promote each vendor, their works, and the exhibition online via the website and social media leading up to the event.

  • Photograph your artworks for promotional purposes, crediting the artist.

  • Provide a representative to attend each event, count attendees and survey the visitors.
