Escape ARTfest are eager to show your creative talent to the community!

We’re inviting all artists to submit an application to exhibit at this year’s Escape ARTfest.

Opportunities exist for exhibitions at various locations in Milton, Mollymook and Ulladulla including gallery space and café exhibitions, open studios and an online exhibition for digital works. As usual the Milton Gallery Walk will form an integral part of this year’s exhibition space.

Our objective is to include artists from a broad demographic with diverse backgrounds and styles to engage and amaze our festival participants by displaying artists work to the highest quality and standard in line with the Escape ARTfest’s vision - Showcasing artists to inspire the community.

Exhibition Selection Criteria

ARTfest’s vision for all exhibitions is to:

  • Have your work displayed professionally, and in a manner which showcases your work to inspire and encourage viewers to be creative

  • Provide opportunity for artists of all levels to exhibit their work to the community, create connections with clients, and grow their creative endeavours through art sales.

Art Exhibitions will display a variety of traditional and/or contemporary art practices using a range of media. These may include (but are not limited to):

  • Painting/drawing

  • Photography

  • Digital art and animation

  • Light and lighting

  • Installation work and performance art

  • Sculpture 

  • Ceramics

  • Textiles

  • Large scale artworks/Murals/Graffiti.


Available Exhibition Space

  • Local galleries, cafes and restaurants 

  • The Alley Gallery at the Dunn Lewis Centre

  • The Civic Centre Gallery Space

  • Empty/unused spaces (outdoor and indoor).


Escape ARTfest will work with successful applicants to secure a suitable venue including wall space or outdoor locations for installation and street art works. Entrants may also submit their application in conjunction with a venue owner or business owner.

Quality and originality

  • Your exhibition should be of high quality, be original in its approach and MUST be your own original work.



  • Thursday 10th October - Sunday 13th October

  • Some venues may allow your work to exhibit for a longer period - please check with venue owner


What you need to do
As well as reading and agreeing to the T&Cs before applying to host an art exhibition, it is the artists responsibility to:

  • Organise and communicate the logistics of transporting, displaying, labelling, confirming times and access for set up and removal of artworks with venue owner

  • Take full responsibility for the care and damage of artworks/materials/equipment, and is NOT the responsibility of Escape ARTfest, it's volunteers, or venue owners.



  • All submissions must be online, via the Escape Artfest website.

  • Please complete a separate form per exhibition/venue

  • Ensure that you have attached photos, or have provided access to view your work via your website or social media account

  • Complete all information and ensure that all other parties involved in your exhibition are clear about the details provided here

  • Applications are now open

How Much Does It Cost?

$150 per exhibition*. This cost may be shared with venue owners.


Exhibition fees may be reduced or waived by Escape ARTfest at its discretion. Please indicate if you wish to apply for a reduced fee and provide your reason in your application.

Your exhibition will be supported by the Escape ARTfest organising committee and volunteers, promoted through an integrated digital marketing, advertising and publicity campaign (e.g. magazines, newspaper, radio, etc.) and featured on the Escape ARTfest website.

NOTE: Escape ARTfest will not collect any commissions on sales of artworks. ARTfest will discourage venues from charging a commission on sales of exhibited work during the ARTfest period.

* Fees cover; administration, advertising and promotion, exhibition insurance# and a contribution towards funding free workshops for disadvantage groups in our community.

# Depending on the nature of your exhibition or performance, at this point in the application process ARTfest cannot guarantee insurance cover. Where ARTfest insurance will not cover your exhibition or performance ARTfest will required the Artist to provide proof of insurance. 

Exhibition terms and conditions (please read carefully before submitting your application).
The Artist MUST:

  • Organise the transportation of their artwork to and from the exhibition space

  • Communicate and plan the hanging/hook/display system with the venue owner prior to the exhibition

  • Confirm times for set up and removal of their artworks with the venue owner prior to the exhibition

  • Take full responsibility for the care and handling of their artworks during transport, display, exhibition, gallery opening times, and removal of artworks. 

  • Guarantee all exhibited work is original and full copyright is owned by the artist

  • Gives permission for the exhibited work to be photographed by Escape ARTfest and used for promotional use on (but not limited to) the Escape ARTfest website, Instagram account, and Facebook page.


Escape ARTfest undertakes to advertise and promote each artist, their works, and the exhibition online via the festival website and social media leading up to the event.
